Honey Baked Chicken

This was my Grandma's go-to recipe and for good reason, it is so easy and impossible to mess up. This dish is absolutely delicious and both kids and adults will love it. This chicken is great for a quick weekday dinner with roasted potatoes (or rice) and veggies, or for a summer BBQ with potatoes salad. But, I also love to make it for Rosh Hashana.

AUTHOR: Tessa Wells

PREP TIME: 10 minutes

COOK TIME: 45-60 minutes

SERVINGS: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken, cut up

  • ½ cup honey

  • ¼ cup soy sauce (I used gluten-free soy sauce)

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp. ketchup

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl combine the honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ketchup.

  2. Put the chicken and sauce in a Ziploc bag to marinate for 24 hours, or a few hours if possible.

  3. When you are ready to bake preheat oven to 375F. Transfer the chicken and the marinade into a baking dish.

  4. Bake uncovered at 375F for 45-60 minutes until the tops are nicely browned.

  5. Serve hot with juice from pan and your favorite side dish
